Stream Summary

• Over the weekend I decided to finally tackle finishing up Dan’s long overdue WordPress theme that I started back in… February! It was put on the backburner with the intent of returning to it after I was annoyed with trying to customize Bootstrap elements but never got around to it – UNTIL NOW.
• Discovering the joys of working with flexboxes! While they do make the process of making a responsive design easier, it does get a bit complicated when you have boxes within boxes within boxes.
• RyanKHawkins retrieved the dragon egg on the third try! But then went MIA without picking an egg 😅
• Running into issues with the image breaking out of the container. Weitlol says making the background yellow helps.
• Edit: Turning the background yellow did not help
• Weitlol discovered that image containers need to have the overflow property on it – sure, I guess that makes sense. So we finally managed to get the post thumbnails to look decent on desktop & mobile thanks to chat and Weitlol.
• I followed a tutorial over the weekend to create a hamburger navigation bar for mobile view so decided to shuffle the code over to the current file andddd ran into some issues as my example uses hardcoded links but the actual site will be using a navigation bar widget to pull links from.
• Spent the remaining stream raging over the hamburger navbar not transferring as it should, had an inkling it had something to do with a missing </div> but didn’t find it… UNTIL AFTER STREAM when I discovered it was hidden (or not?) away in a template file for the search bar. WHY.
• Since Ryan has been on a work call for 5 hours (lol, thats the story we are going with), we picked out his egg based on his first Dandle vote choice: https://dragcave.net/view/x7LSQ
• Removed the bootstrap files which apparently reset some of the font styling, so will need to go back through and fix that lol

Thanks to the suggestion of PomoTheDog, we sent the koimmunity over to hang out with HonestDanGames! Dan was having a conversation with BrainoidGames & Spacey3D to discuss continuing development of their game Cattenburg.
