Stream Summary

Out of all the things I wanted to do on today’s stream, I did manage to get the UI actually hooked up with placeholder Vue components so that the navigation bar can switch views. I’m impressed with how much easier it is to get navigation working with Vue compared to WPF.

I got one button setup on the main page that would start the authentication process and fetch tokens to use for the Twitch Api, but then had to dig back through old bot code to remember how the authentication process worked. I then realized I needed to somehow store the Application ClientId & Secrets but do it the proper way – previously since the application ran locally on my PC I just stored them in a .json file. I know, I know! It’s not secure.. but if someone managed to get a hold of my secrets, I had much bigger problems to worry about 🤣

This started the rabbithole of reading Microsoft documentation and getting sidetracked about databases – I learned that SQL requires a license for production apps? So now I gotta look into alternative databases or go back to SQLite.

Also watched the solar eclipse with the community via Nasa’s livestream! Not as exciting as seeing it in person, but when you live across the pond with 0% totallity, this is the next best thing. Check out this sweet shot of the eclipse from Nigara Falls!
(A joke of course, it was unfortunately cloudy but the camera person zoomed in on the ferris wheel which I found hillarious)
